History of a true European Hero: Pulkvedis Frīdrihs Briedis

Dear pagan readers,

It is not exactly a usual subject for a post on Vinland Heritage but I hope you will enjoy none the less. Today I’m taking a few minutes of my (pretty busy)time to evoke the memory of a true European hero. If there had been more men like him in the early 20th century, the history of modern Europe would have probably been totally different. His name is Frīdrihs Briedis. Let us all remember his honorable deeds and his devotion to the European blood.

To escape dishonest and harsh baronial treatment, Briedis’ father moved the family from Vidzeme to Vitebsk guberniya (today’s Latgale), where he obtained forest land, cleared it for growing corn, and built the house where Briedis was born, the youngest of three children.
